Add an Image to WordPress Page or Post
ByThis short guide illustrates how to add an image that’s on your computer to a post or page. It does not cover adding an image from a URL, the Gallery, or from the Media Library, but once you’ve done a couple from your computer, you’ll see the process is very similar.
It’s really pretty easy to add images to your WordPress page or post.
- Put the cursor in the text area of the post or page, where you’d like the image to appear.
- Click on the little icon immediately to the right of the words Upload/Insert.
- In the Add an Image screen, use the Select Files button go to the location of the image file you want to upload, select the file, and then click Open.
- After the file has uploaded
- Give it a title
- Add Alternate Text (for screen readers and for SEO purposes)
- Add a caption, if desired
- Add a brief description (SEO)
- Pick the alignment
- Pick the size
- Click Insert into Post / Page
That’s all there is to it.
